The Nation's Weather
The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, December 19, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Much colder air will push across the Northeast today with
temperatures 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit lower than Monday.
Rain and snow showers as well as heavy snow squalls over the
interior will taper off during the afternoon and evening.
Dry weather will continue across the Southeast as an area of
high pressure builds across the region. This will also
provide plenty of sunshine, although temperatures will be
below the historical averages for Dec. 19. On the other side
of the nation, showers will continue to occur across the
West Coast as a storm remains well offshore. Periods of
steadier rain are possible, mainly in Northern California.
In the Northwest, rain could mix with snow or sleet at
times, mainly in the higher elevations. Across the center of
the country, dry and mild weather will continue.
