Joey Essex follows in the footsteps of Elton John and Steven Spielberg as he splashes out £100,000 in money making move
JOEY Essex is joining stars including Sir Elton John and Steven Spielberg by plunging his cash into art.
The former Towie star has invested £100,000 in posh paintings so far – including buying original pieces from Zara Muse and Frank Canvas.
Insiders said Joey, who is now living between Essex and Dubai, wanted to do something “sensible” with his cash.
A source said: “Joey has worked so hard for his money but now he’s trying to be wise about his future investments.
“When he got famous on Towie he was known for his daft persona but now Joey is proving he has a shrewd head for business.
“He has forked out around £100,000 so far and has bought beautiful, original pieces from Zara and Frank.

“Joey has put them into storage for safe keeping and has licensed them for merchandising with Quantus Gallery.”
Insiders said the move by Joey meant he’d be able to cash in on royalties – with the gallery using the images on items they would sell in their shop.
They explained: “The prints have been licensed by Joey which means he can make money off of them.
“The images will be printed onto things like tote bags or coffee cups and sold on. Joey will then take a cut of this.
“It is a very clever investment and means that while he owns the original work he can also make money off it.
“This is never been done before in art industry and shows that Joey is much more than a pretty face signing up to this business opportunity.”
The products, which are on sale at artmerchandise.com, allow the owner to share in the original work.
The clever move by Joey comes after The Sun revealed he was swapping Essex for the high life in Dubai.
He has rented out his UK mansion for a huge £13,000 a month.
A source told The Sun: “Joey has started house-hunting in Dubai. He is planning to buy a base out there so he can jet off whenever he likes.
“Joey will be splitting his time between his home in Essex and his new place in Dubai.
Now a source has revealed that Joey has started “intensive training” as a boxer, looking for his first fight in 2024.
By the looks of things, it seems like there could be a potential match in the future between Joey and boxing and YouTube sensation, KSI.
In an interview shared online Joey said: “KSI, I’d do him easy with the way he fought Tommy Fury.”
While in another clip KSI said that he “don’t like Joey”.
