Dancing on Ice star rushed to hospital as he shares terrifying A&E pic
DANCING on Ice star Kye Whyte has been rushed to hospital and has shared a terrifying snap in A&E.
The Olympian shared a picture of himself wearing an oxygen mask, sparking concern amongst his fans.
The BMX racer, 24, uploaded a shot to his instagram stories which showed his shirtless in a hospital bed while hooked up to an air supply.
Kye explained that he had suffered an asthma attack that sent him to A&E, following a flare of eczema.
He wrote: “Some of you may know, some people may not but when I was a kid, I had bad asthma and eczema and recently my eczema came back, just in little places, and last night I had a asthma attack out of the blue so maybe they both wanted to come back at the same time.”
He then reassured his followers that he was OK, adding: “But I am fine everyone have a great Christmas and look after yourself.”
Kye was part of Team GB’s Olympic team at Toyko 2020 and came away with a silver medal as the Brits took the BMX events by storm.
He performed on Dancing On Ice with 29-year-old professional skater, Tippy Packard.
Prior to taking to the ice, he admitted he was in it to win it.
He said at the time: “I think I can win Dancing On Ice. I’d love to see if I can make the final because, as I said, I’m very competitive.
“You know what? I want to make the final!”
Sadly, Kye narrowly missed out on the final, reaching the semi finals and finishing in fifth place overall.
He admitted he felt like an underdog in the competition, but liked being in that position.
Speaking just prior to the semi final, he said: “I love being the underdog, I love it so much.
“I’m just trying to live up to all their standards.
“It makes me enjoy skating more, knowing my scores ain’t too far away from them guys — even though I reckon if they could get higher than a ten, they probably would be.”
Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, Strictly pro Brendan Cole and dancer Regan Gascoigne made it to the final, with Regan winning the crown.
Dancing On Ice returns again in January with stars including soap star Ryan Thomas, boxer Ricky Hatton and Love Island legend Amber Davies in the mix.
