Who is Shubham Dubey? Uncapped Vidarbha Star Who Set IPL Auction on FIRE
New Delhi: Shubham Dubey was sold to Rajasthan Royals for 5.80 crore in the Indian Premier League 2024 Auction in Dubai on 19 December, Tuesday.
The uncapped Indian batter had a base price of INR 20 Lakh as Delhi Capitals (DC) started the bidding for the 29-year-old player. Rajasthan Royals (RR) soon joined the race to sign him and a bidding war ensued. The RR was very determined and hence they were all out for him to get in the squad.
The bidding war intensified when the price crossed the 2 crore mark. DC and RR looked determined to land their man with counters coming almost instantly and at the end RR got their man and they signed Shubham Dubey for INR 5.80 crore.
Shubham Dubey is an Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha. He was born on August 27, 1994, in Yavatmal district, Maharashtra. He made his List A debut on February 22, 2021, for Vidarbha in the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
The young lad is the explosive finisher in the Indian domestic circuit. The Vidarbha batter has proved his mettle on several occasions and has been one of the best performers at the SMAT. Playing lower down in the middle order, Dubey, a left-hand batter, made 221 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 187.28.

The tournament’s highlight was his part in Vidarbha scaling a chase of 213 against Bengal, their highest-ever successful chase, with 13 balls to spare. Coming in as an impact player at No. 5, Dubey finished with an unbeaten 58 from just 20 balls, hitting three fours and six sixes.
Dubey is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He has scored 1,046 runs in 27 List A matches, including one century and six half-centuries. He has also taken 20 wickets in 12 matches.
Dubey had a stellar performance for Vidarbha in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy. He scored 492 runs in 10 matches, including three centuries and one half-century. He also took 27 wickets in 12 matches. Dubey is a talented cricketer with good potential, and he’s considered a promising prospect for the Indian team in the future.
