Turning Point USA conference-goers yell hate slurs at Black and gay GOPer: video
A Black and openly gay conservative influencer posted a video to X that apparently shows him being heckled with homophobic slurs by "white supremacists" during the right-wing Turning Point USA conference currently being held in Phoenix.
"Last night in Phoenix, I was confronted and surrounded by some White Supremacists that don't like gays or Blacks in the Republican Party," Rob Smith wrote in the post Monday night.
"They shouted 'n-----' and 'f-----' at me to make their point. However, I served in Iraq. I never back down. Ever," he said.
The video shows Smith being surrounded by people who appear to be chanting "gay sex" before they chant "f-----.' They then begin to chant "America first," but no racial slurs can be heard in the video. At one point, Smith shouts back at the crowd, "Yes, Nick Fuentes loves gay sex," referring to the antisemitic and racist founder of America First.

Some of Smith's fellow conservatives responded to the video by sending him messages of support.
"This is embarrassing behavior. All I can say is their gutter trash talk gets rewarded online, and some of them are delusional enough to think they can act the same in real life," wrote Christina Pushaw, who is the rapid response director for Ron DeSantis' campaign.
Others slammed Smith for being naive.
"A gay Black man walks into a White Supremacist Convention & is SHOCKED to see White Supremacists," actor Tom Arnold wrote. "I hope your grift is worth it buddy."
