'What a disgrace': CNN host rips into Rudy Giuliani for continuing to lie
Rudy Giuliani was buried Tuesday as he hit out at the two women who filed a second defamation case against him just days after a court ordered him to pay them damages of $148 million.
The former mayor of New York and ex-Donald Trump attorney was sued for a second time Monday by Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman, who asked the court for "injunctive relief to permanently bar Defendant Rudolph W. Giuliani from persisting in his defamatory campaign."
On Friday, Giuliani was ordered to pay the massive amount of damages after he said the two former election workers from Georgia rigged the 2020 vote for President Joe Biden. He continued to make the claims during his defamation trial last week.
“Never, never, never did any of those jurors see a single piece of evidence that many Americans have seen about how these women acted that would have been contrary to the — to their unrebutted, uncorroborated testimony,” he said Monday as the defendants sued him again.
“It's a sham of a trial.”
His comments sickened CNN’s legal expert Elie Honig.
“We have to call this out every time,” he said.

“What a disgrace by Rudy Giuliani. Everything he said was a lie," he continued. "What he said about Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman is a lie and what he said about the trial is a lie. He had plenty of opportunity to put on his own evidence. He was not prevented. Now, Ms. Moss and Freeman sued Rudy Giuliani again. They can keep suing him every time he defames them if they want.”
But, he said, the chances of Moss and Freeman being successful in their latest court bid are not good.
“What our courts are very, very hesitant to do is prevent somebody, a private individual, the media, from saying something in advance," he said. "That's called a prior restraint. It's a bedrock principle of our system that we are against. We, all of us, our constitution, our first amendment, do not go in for prior restraints except in the most extraordinary circumstances. So, I don't think they're going to be able to proactively shut Rudy up. But you know, you can always have consequences after the fact."
