Enzo Fernandez injury fears as £107m Chelsea star subbed off just half an hour into Newcastle Carabao Cup clash

Chelsea have been handed a fresh injury concern after Enzo Fernandez appeared to pick up a knock against Newcastle.

The midfielder was replaced by Armando Broja after just 32 minutes on Wednesday night.

Fernandez headed straight down the tunnel with a member of Chelsea’s medical staff and assistant manager Jesus Perez after he was withdrawn in a potential blow to Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

He had indicated to the bench minutes prior to the substitution, before attempting to continue.

The Blues are already without 10 first-team players, including captain Reece James and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
