My anti-aging soup is my fountain of youth – it’s seriously the best for plump skin, glowing starts from the inside out
A SKINCARE enthusiast has shared a soup recipe that is filled with “fountain of youth” ingredients.
Not only does it help your skin glow from the inside out, but she also praised the dish for its plumping properties and anti-aging health benefits.
Health and wellness fan Sotee (@thatsotee) shares helpful beauty tips and tricks online.
In a TikTok video, she shared a Chinese recipe that was filled with “fountain of youth” ingredients.
Known as Tong Sui, it is a collective term for any sweet soup or custard often served as a dessert.
Sotee wrote in the caption that it was “seriously the best for plump skin and has numerous health benefits.”
She detailed in the video that it also hydrates skin, boosts collagen production, and boosts immunity.
Many of the items used in the stew are synonymous with Asian culture, as shown below.
First, she soaked a handful of peach gum and snow fungus in water overnight.
Sotee advised checking the water level to make sure that it was completely covered.
The next morning, the snow fungus looked “beautifully bloomed” and the peach fungus hydrated.
She then added a handful of dried longons and lotus seeds, red dates with the seed cut out, one dried candid date, a few ginger slices, and a handful of goji berries into a pot of boiling water.
The beauty guru boiled about ten cups of water and reduced it to a medium simmer for 15 minutes after the ingredients were put in.
“I’m gonna cut the yellow stem area off the snow fungus and continue to cut it into bite-sized pieces,” she demonstrated.
Ingredients
- Peach gum
- Snow fungus
- Dried longons
- Lotus seeds
- Red dates
- Candid dates
- Ginger
- Goji berries
Next, Sotee added the fungus and rock sugar to the hot broth and let it simmer for another 15 minutes.
“In the meantime, I’m going to clean the black debris from the peach gum. I’ll just use my fingers to clean it,” she explained.
She admitted that it was a bit tedious, but most of it fell off in the overnight soak.
After another 15 minutes, she added the peach gum and let it simmer in the mixture for another ten minutes.
“Be careful not to overcook the peach gum because, otherwise, it’s going to melt,” Sotee warned.
Because she prefers the soup on the sweeter side, she added another block of rock sugar and let it soak in for ten more minutes.
“After the final 10 minutes, I’m gonna turn off the heat and add in the goji berries. It’s just going to soften very quickly and yay, it’s ready to eat,” she said.
Sotee gushed that the healthy soup is so much better than oatmeal and has it at least once a day.
