Watch the first 70 seconds of the ‘Survivor 45’ finale, where Austin is still ‘blindsided’ over Drew’s ouster

In anticipation of Wednesday’s three-hour airing of the “Survivor 45” finale, CBS has released a clip of the first 70 seconds in which the Final 5 castaways get to their new beach. The narrative quickly centers around Austin Li Coon, who admits to being “blindsided” at tribal council after his “best buddy” Drew Basile was voted out of the game. It’s Night 23 as Austin, Dee Valladares, Julie Alley, Jake O’Kane and Katurah Topps grab their torches and arrive at their home for the next three nights. “This camp is really nice,” notices Dee.

Julie then shouts a triumphant “Final 5!” before wanting to “dissect” what just happened at tribal council.

Austin is the first to speak up, claiming, “That was wild! I was absolutely, completely blindsided on that.”

In a private confessional, Austin explains to the camera, “Oh man. This tribal council is the first time in the game where I did not know what was gonna happen. I got blindsided and my best buddy Drew got sent home.”

Austin tells everyone that he “wouldn’t mind a recap,” and Dee reveals that she’ll talk to him “one-on-one.” They go off into a private area and discuss the events of the prior night.

“Until today, I’ve had two number-ones in this game, Dee and Drew,” Austin states in a confessional. “And now with Drew gone, I just have one number-one, and that’s Dee. But Dee did not tell me about the Drew vote.”
