Golden State basketball is on the way! Come join our game thread and chat about tonight’s matchup here.
The Golden State Warriors will be tested with a matchup against the Eastern Conference leading Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. The game will be played at 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on TNT.
Previously with the Warriors:
On Sunday, Golden State extended their winning streak to two games by beating the Portland Trail Blazers, 118-114. Head coach Steve Kerr continues to have success with his new rotation which gives more opportunities to the team’s younger players.
While rookie Brandin Podziemski continues to impress the team with his poise, toughness, and high basketball IQ in the starting role, his fellow rookie teammate Trayce Jackson-Davis had his turn to shine with significant minutes in this one. Jackson-Davis stuffed the stat sheet, finishing the night shooting 6-of-9 from the field with 14 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block in 18 minutes of play.

The Warriors were fortunate that their role players stepped up because superstar Stephen Curry played his worst game of the season. Just one night after dropping 37 points against the Brooklyn Nets, Curry finished the night in Portland with just seven points on 2-of-12 shooting from the field. He was also 0-of-8 shooting from behind the arc, marking the first time since 2018 that Curry finished a game without hitting a three.
Curry on his snapped 3pt streak: “I was very aware…when you don’t make one you definitely feel it. I definitely care because I wanted to see how far I can stretch it. Obviously now start another one.”

What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors begin a three-game homestand by welcoming the Celtics to the Bay Area. With a record of 20-5, Boston currently holds the top seed in the East and is tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the best record in the NBA.
Although their new offseason additions of Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis have helped them in their fast start to the season, the Celtics still revolve around their two All-NBA caliber wings in Jayson Tatum and Jaylon Brown.
Because of this, it should be interesting to see how the Warriors decide to matchup with them defensively, especially with Boston center Kristaps Porzingis ruled out for tonight’s game.
Kristaps Porzingis is out for the Celtics tonight. Chris Paul remains questionable.

If Kerr sticks with the same starters as last game, he will presumably task Jonathan Kuminga and Klay Thompson with guarding Tatum and Brown. However, Kerr can also choose to start Andrew Wiggins or Moses Moody in place of Podziemski, giving the Warriors more size and athleticism on defense. Whatever they decide to do, it will be a good test for Golden State as they go up against one of the serious title contenders in the NBA this season.
It should be a fun game. Enjoy the basketball Dub Nation. GO WARRIORS!!!
