Man stabbed in robbery at Half Moon Bay grocery store

HALF MOON BAY – A 30-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a robbery and a stabbing at a supermarket in Half Moon Bay on Monday, according to authorities.

Deputies were called to the Safeway at 70 North Cabrillo Highway around 12:05 p.m. for a report of a stabbing, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The victim was stabbed twice when he tried to reclaim property that had been stolen from his girlfriend, according to the sheriff’s office. He received medical aid at the scene and was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The suspect, identified as a resident of Half Moon Bay, boarded a SamTrans bus following the incident, but deputies found her a short time later, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies recovered the stolen property and found a knife on the suspect, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was arrested and booked into county jail on charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
