My family went away for five days so I covered every inch of our home in wrapping paper, people don’t know how to feel
A MISCHIEVOUS boy shocked his mom and siblings with a festive-themed prank after being left home alone for five days.
He confessed that he was expecting his family to be angry when they saw how he had transformed their home.
Maks (@thatguymaks) boasts over 2.7 million followers on TikTok, where he shares funny moments in his life and tries viral challenges.
He took to the social media platform to share his family’s reaction after he decided to play a Christmas-themed prank on them.
“POV [point of view]: You were left home alone for five days,” read the text over the video.
Maks bought countless rolls of wrapping paper to gift wrap every single item in his family home, starting with his sister’s bedroom.
He documented the painstaking process of applying wrapping paper to the walls, individual books, drawers, and even her television.
The entire bedroom including the floor took 20 hours to complete.
He continued the prank that was certain to inconvenience his family when they tried to do even the smallest tasks by gift wrapping the kitchen.
He applied huge sheets of paper covered in Santas, snowmen, and other festive characters to the walls, tables, and sink.
The prankster took no thought to the danger of wrapping electricals as he applied gift wrap to the stovetop, radiators, and toaster.
Maks even covered individual fruits in the holiday-themed paper as he chose not to overlook any area of the house.
“92 hours of work and no sleep later, it’s finished and I actually think it looks cool,” he said.
“Now it’s time for my family’s reaction to see what they think.”
He played the classic song Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree as he panned the camera to show that only the Christmas decorations weren’t covered in wrapping paper.
His mom’s jaw dropped as she opened the door to the living room and saw the home transformation.
After getting over the initial shock, she gave the prank a thumbs-up and looked around at the chaos.
Maks’ sisters had a similar reaction as they picked up items throughout the house without ripping the paper.
One of his sisters covered her forehead with her hand as she searched the kitchen, while the other laughed at how even tiny items had been wrapped.
“Instead of being angry they said they were happy to see me [laughing],” Maks said.
The prank went viral with over 40 million views, thousands of likes, and a flood of comments from people in hysterics.
Many viewers were impressed by Maks’ wrapping skills while admitting they would be furious if someone covered their own house in paper.
Others were curious how much Maks spent on wrapping paper but he didn’t answer their questions.
“The way I’m so lazy my room would still be wrapped a year later,” one person commented.
“The chair rails, the bananas, the faucet, the kettle… my mind is blown and I can’t stop smiling,” another said.
“To all those whining it’s a waste of time and money!
“This is what’s wrong with this world! Laugh it might make you feel better,” a third wrote.
“And here’s me can’t be a**ed wrapping the presents I’ve bought,” a fourth quipped.
“This is low-key genius, when everyone leaves after Christmas you just unwrap it all and throw it away with no mess,” another added.
