I got sick hours before a wedding so couldn’t hide my ‘big girl’ stomach with shapewear, people say I didn’t need it
A PLUS-SIZE influencer had to take immediate action after suffering a sickness bug hours before a wedding day.
Her bodycon dress required shapewear, but she had to make a drastic maneuver in this emergency.
It had to go even if it meant she couldn’t hide her “big girl” stomach.
On this occasion, it was a sacrifice she was prepared to make.
But it’s a habit she might want to adopt in the future because fans insisted she didn’t need any at all.
Many commenters even said Emma Arletta (@emma.arletta), who has 676,000 followers, looked better without shapewear.
Her mission statement on her TikTok is: “Big girls want to have fun.”
But rushing to the toilet hours before a wedding was not the sort of fun she was looking for.
“I’ve been throwing up and having diarrhea all day,” she said in her post, while still looking impossibly glamorous.
She wore a red, Jessica Rabbit, va va voom dress. Usually, the shapewear would have been part of the foundations, but not this time.
“So I can’t wear shapewear under this dress to go to the wedding I’m about to go to.
“So, the big girls are really just going to embrace this tummy today. Hyping myself up,” she said.
There was a huge response to her post, with over 82,000 likes.
Commenters were universal when they said she didn’t need the support.
“That dress was made for you. No shapewear needed,” was a view typical of many more.
It was a similar view from this fan: “You look incredible. Death to shapewear.”
This person wished they could look as good: “Damn, you are wearing that dress. I don’t look that good with shapewear.”
Forget the support, said this viewer: “The color, the fit, the hair, the makeup. Girl you are the moment. Shapewear who?”
