My ‘Frosty the snowman’ Christmas cheese and fruit platter is a winner for holiday parties, and easy to put together
IF you’re hosting this holiday season, a simple set-up can help you in the snack department.
One woman showed her followers how to create a DIY Christmas platter.
In her video, MaKayla Thomas (@makayla_thomas_fit) demonstrated each step of the easy recipe for her audience.
The Instagrammer called the “Frosting the Snowman” platter the “cutest little holiday treat.”
She explained that it is “so easy to modify to be as macro-friendly or indulgent as you’d like.”
For her first step, she mixed cream cheese, marshmallow cream, and vanilla frosting in a bowl.
MaKayla recommended using low-fat cream cheese if you wish to create a diet-friendly version of the dip.
She also suggested substituting yogurt for the marshmallow cream and Cool Whip for the frosting.
The food expert mixed the three ingredients in a bowl and poured the paste into a piping bag.
MaKayla squeezed the mixture in three circles on a wooden serving board.
Beginning at one side, she made every circle slightly smaller to resemble a snowman.
She then arranged her favorite snacks for dipping around the mixture.
MaKayla recommended using “a variety of your favorite dippers, cookies, wafers, graham crackers, pretzels, and nuts.”
She also suggested using a low-calorie version of the above snacks or fruit if you don’t want to overindulge.
MaKayla used chopped-up strawberries and cookies to surround the snowman.
She added a top hat to the festive character by arranging blueberries on the top of the board.
Using red food coloring, MaKayla was also able to create a scarf for the snowman with the leftover mixture.
She gave him eyes and a mouth using chocolate chips as well as a Skittle nose and buttons.
Her followers took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the platter.
“Love it!!! I would probably put Twizzlers for the scarf,” suggested one viewer.
“I need this like right now!!!! What’s a great idea for a party or just me,” said another Instagram user.
“Mannnn, you always pull through with something looking so yummy and easy to make, my sweet tooth thanks you,” wrote a third person.
