Ontario Cycling’s 2024 Para-Cycling program is intended to increase opportunity for Ontario’s Para-Cycling athlete community to connect more frequently with an increased focus on aligning racing exposure within the province.
Rising Stars Camps
These camps are designed for athletes to develop skills in a safe and positive training environment. These 1 to 2 day camps are open to all para-cyclists – including new, experienced, and national program athletes.
Para-Cycling Performance Program // Training Group
The Performance Program is designed to align training and racing opportunities that provide more structured learning and performance preparation for athletes working towards national and international-level competition.
Athletes will be a provided multi-day intensive camps involving on and off-bike training opportunities. Camps are hosted by expert coaches and sport science practitioners in the fields of nutrition, strength and conditioning, mental performance.
*Performance-based selection criteria (see below), maximum 8 athletes
Performance Program Requirements:
Commitment to participation at the following camps/events: 2024 Warm Weather Camp, Road Nationals, Crit series, Ontario Summer Games, Provincials and Fall camp
Commitment to Full-time training alongside a detailed YTP
Dedicated and Certified NCCP Coach
Performance Program Athlete Selection Criteria:
Prior commitment and participation to 2023 Road Nationals
Prior commitment and participation to 2023 Fall Camp
2024 OHPSI Program Athletes
Gender Equity
Ontario Cycling and Cycling Canada Recommendation
Consideration to athlete commitment to full-time training and racing
Performance Program Athlete Benefits:
Performance program athletes will receive priority access to coaching services, sport science services and mechanical support at camps and competitions.
