Virat Kohli CONVINCES Rohit Sharma to Take DRS to Dismiss Kyle Verrennye During IND vs SA Boxing Day Test – WATCH
Centurion: Late in the day on Wednesday, when India were striving for a wicket, it came, but for that to happen, Virat Kohli had to convince captain Rohit Sharma. Kyle Verrennye had cut a ball outside the off-stump off Prasidh Krishna. Verrennye did not get it out of the middle and it went to the keeper. There was an appeal but the umpire did not raise his finger. That is when Virat Kohli, who was at slip, seemed convinced about it and hence asked captain Rohit Sharma to take the DRS. Rohit obliged and went for the DRS, which showed that the batter had got an edge on that. India got the wicket. Here is the clip of how Kohli convinced Rohit.

Mreanwhile, Dean Elgar’s unbeaten 140 propelled South Africa to 256/5 in reply to India’s 245 all out before bad light forced early stumps on Day 2 of the ongoing Test match in Centurion. Elgar, who is playing his farewell series, scored his 14 Test hundred and first on home ground. For India Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj took two wickets each so far. Earlier, the visitors rode on a fine 101 from KL Rahul to reach 245.
South Africa have their nose ahead and Rahul said it has become easier to bat. “Today in the morning, when we’d batted for those 7-8 overs, I felt the wicket had eased a bit. But it can change here quickly with cracks opening out.”
Rahul said the Centurion wicket never allows a batter to ‘feel set’ and at times one can score freely and at times one can’t. The key to batting in the middle-order and playing long is not to plan too much, reckoned the 31-year-old.
“You can’t plan that much. There’s a game situation that tells you how to play in that time and moment. You have to remain free and empty. You need to be aware that you might have to bat with tail,” he said.
