WHL roundup: Rylen Roersma scores twice as Wheat Kings defeat Pats 5-4 in OT
BRANDON, Man. - Rylen Roersma scored twice to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings over the Regina Pats 5-4 in overtime on Wednesday night in the Western Hockey League.
Jayden Wiens knocked in the overtime-winner at 1:51 of the extra frame. He also had an assist in regulation. Brett Hyland and Matteo Michels scored once for Brandon (17-12-4), which earned its seventh win in eight games.
Wheat Kings goaltender Carson Bjarnason stopped 34 shots and Nolan Flamand had two assists.
Sam Oremba had two goals while Tye Spencer and Braxton Whitehead also scored for Regina (13-16-5), which lost its third game in a row.
Pats netminder Kelton Pyne made 34 saves.
Borya Valis pitched in with three assists, while Tanner Howe had two.
Oremba opened the scoring at 4:10 of the first period to give Regina an early lead.
After Roersma tied the game at 10:01 of the second, Oremba scored again — his eighth of the season — before Whitehead added to Regina's lead.
Brandon then scored three unanswered goals in the third period, with Roersma's 13th of the season making it 5-4.
Spencer tied the game with 2:04 left in regulation to force overtime, where Wiens played hero.

SASKATOON — Tyler Parr scored twice as the Saskatoon Blades beat the Prince Albert Raiders.
Easton Armstrong, Egor Sidorov, Charlie Wright and Lukas Hansen also scored for Saskatoon (24-8-2). Blades netminder Evan Gardner kicked out 29 shots.
Sloan Stanick scored twice while Hayden Pakkala scored once for Prince Albert (17-16-2). Raiders goaltender Max Hildebrand stopped 31 shots.
