Asda’s halved the price of chocolates in post-Christmas sale but shoppers complain some are ‘filling their trolleys’
IF you’ve got a sweet tooth and have already devoured all of your Christmas tubs of chocolate, never fear.
That’s because Asda has slashed the prices of their festive chocolate bars and sets in a mega half-price sale – and people are going wild for them.
Spreading the news of the in-store offers, TikTok user Cost of Living Crisis Tips took to his profile.
The social media influencer, aka @costoflivingcrisistips, told his followers: “Asda are having a chocolate sale, most of them half price too.
“They are the leftover Christmas chocolates but who cares? They all taste the same.”
He then went through some of the best offers on the supermarket’s shelves, starting with a white chocolate selection box that was an absolute steal.
Holding up the pack – called the White Festive Selection – to the camera, @costoflivingcrisistips showed how it included bars such as Milkybar, Lion, and KitKat Chunky.
He explained: “This selection box is just £1.25 – was £2.”
There was also a special Maltesers Christmas Mix, which boasts reindeers, mini reindeers, mint reindeers and ten of the Teasers’ chocolates for £1.75, reduced from £3.50.
Up next, there was a gifting tin of Reese’s Peanut Butter Miniature cups, which included a mixture of milk and white chocolate ones.
They were originally £7 but can now be yours for £3.50.
Elsewhere, Thorntons’ Pearls Mixed Selection – which includes favourites like Salted Caramel Sensation and Hazelnut Delight – also caught @costoflivingcrisistips’ attention and was just £3.
Other chocolate treats on offer include Galaxy’s Orange Chocolate cake bars for 75p, Mr Kipling’s Chocolate Fudge Winter Whirls which were marked up at 75p, and their Christmas Slices, which cost £1.15.
And the TikTok user gave a special piece of advice to customers, as he told them where to look to guarantee money off.
He revealed: “This is one of the bigger Asda stores and all the chocolates were at the back near the bread.
“It’s definitely worth having a look if you live locally.
“If you like your sweet treats, you better get down to Asda and get a bargain.”
And it seems like plenty of Asda customers have taken his advice, as many took to the comment section of the video, which has racked up over 1k likes and counting.
One person wrote: “Damn, might need a trip!”
A second social media user added: “The boxes with 4 Aeros and 4 bags of Cadburys buttons were £2 each.”
At the same time, others complained about fellow shoppers taking too much – with some even clearing the shelves before anyone else had a chance.
One person vented: “Mine did this Boxing Day but people filled trolleys to the max and left nothing for anyone else.”
Another chimed in: “They will probably lose their teeth by the next sale!”
