I had a hair transplant at 27 & my head ballooned like a watermelon – everyone says I looked like Megamind
A YOUNG man has revealed the hilarious side effect of his hair transplant and it’s shocked the internet.
The northern lad, named OJM online, woke up to discover his head had swelled up and made him look like cartoon character Megamind.
OJM was bald at just 27 years old and instead of embracing his look or wearing wigs, he opted to visit a clinic in Manchester to have a hair transplant and rejuvenate his lost locks.
He’s not the only Brit to go under the knife in a bid for fuller hair. OJM is one of thousands jetting across the pond to Turkey or having tweaks done on home soil, but the results aren’t always the dream they were hoping for.
Taking to social media, he explained: “Just thought I’d post about how much my head swelled [after surgery].”
Filming himself in selfie mode, the lad showed off the results of the transplant.
Where he bald patch once sat was a fresh crop of hair, just millimetres long. But his new locks were eclipsed by his enormous bulging forehead.
Spinning around to give his followers a good view of his protruding head, he said: “The mad thing is that I can raise my eyebrows but my head’s that swollen, you can’t see it.”
The young man videoed himself pressing a finger into his bulbous forehead, leaving deep indents in his skin.
But the swelling didn’t stop there. The next morning, he shared how the excess fluid had travelled down from his forehead and under his eyes.
“It looks awful,” he said. “I look like I’ve been stung by a wasp’s nest and it doesn’t get much better I’m afraid.”
As the hours and days passed, the man kept a video diary to track the swelling, and it was going nowhere fast.
“I look like I’ve had a stroke or I’ve had a bit of jaw filler in,” he exclaims, while wearing a tight band around his forehead in an attempt to drain the fluid.
Over 200,000 people have followed the man’s hair transplant journey, and they had plenty to say about his unfortunate affliction.
One shocked follower replied: “Jesus, Megamind.”
A second joked: “Bro has an idea.”
A third commented: “I’d rather shave my head.”
And a fourth wrote: “Swell head.”
