Trump rages that the U.S. is failing to 'extort' Mexico during Truth Social border rant
Donald Trump tipped his hand Thursday at what his foreign policy would look like if he won a second presidential term — and partnership with the United States’ neighbors isn’t on the table.
“We are being extorted by Mexico and other countries,” he wrote in all caps.
“When it should be the other way around.”
The fact that he believes America’s aim should be to extort other countries goes against the longstanding principles of free trade partnerships
Trump also painted a horrific picture of the state of the United States’ border with Mexico — saying that no country in the world has ever had a worse one.
“Our border is out of control like no border in history, from any country, has ever been,” he wrote.

Current migration levels at the southern border are exceptionally high at the moment, fueling Republican attacks on President Joe Biden’s policies and Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric.
Trump went on, “We truly are a nation in decline, a failing nation, with leadership that is not respected and doesn’t have a clue.”
Trump bragged that the immigration problems were a result of Biden’s dismantling of many of his immigration policies, in which he repeatedly called immigrants “criminals” and imposed widely criticized policies including separating children from their parents at border.
“Just 3 years ago, we had the strongest and safest border in history. By far,” he said.
