You’ll thank me later for my cheap and easy hangover cure – it’s a life-saver but some people insist it’d make them sick
NEW Year’s Eve beckons and so does a hangover. But you don’t have to dread them anymore thanks to a healthy hack.
One TikToker said revelers could thank her later for her cheap cure.
But not everyone was convinced, with some people insisting it would make them sick.
It was clear Chloe Ellen Mua (@chloeellenmua) was not going to change her mind on it.
In her post, she munched cheerily away on her cucumber.
She was secure in the knowledge that this unlikely salad vegetable had gotten her through some grim morning afters.
“Honestly, it’s a lifesaver I do it all the time now,” she admitted.
“Eat half a cucumber before you start drinking and another half before bed,” she instructed.
It is, she figures, “the best hack. Thank me later.”
There may still be those who doubt a water-filled veggie can get them through the dark destroyer hours of a hangover.
Promising yourself you will never do it again is no help, but Mr Cucumber is.
Science backs up Chloe’s assertion. The Farmers Almanac laid out its benefits.
“They’re a great hangover remedy,” they said.
“Cucumbers are a valuable source of sugar, vitamin B, and electrolytes.”
Their conclusion confirmed Chloe’s hack: “Eat a couple of slices before bed after a night out, and you might wake up headache-free.”
There was an enormous response to her video, attracting 181,000 likes and hundreds of comments.
It didn’t work for one of them: “I did that and couldn’t stop throwing up.”
This person suggested an alternative to cucumber: “Have you tried Mac’n’Cheese after a night out? Nothing better.”
It was obvious this person was not going to give it a go: “Could not think of anything worse than eating a cucumber before and after a night out.”
But some could vouch for its effectiveness: “Been doing this for the last two years and it works fab.”
And this person was willing to give it a go: “If it helps with hangovers I’m all over this.”
