Very rare ‘modern classic’ Noble is ‘race track ready’ & sells for surprisingly reasonable price
A ‘MODERN classic’ British sports car has been sold for just £45,500 at an auction.
The Noble M400 is one of Britain’s best-loved sports cars and was awarded Car of the Year back in 2005.
And this impressive and heavily modified example has been sold at an auction – sporting benefits from a significant recent mechanical do-over.
Just 75 examples were produced of the M400, but despite the car’s rarity and speed – which can see it reach nearly 190mph – one lucky collector was able to pick it up for less than £50,000.
The previous owner had the car for just one year and spent thousands of hours restoring it and adding a host of upgrades and features – including a 3.0-litre twin turbo Ford Durtec V6 engine which delivers up to 509bhp.
That’s as well as adding a front-mount oil cooler, carbon-fibre splitter, wings and players and custom water and oil pipers, all to make car’s performance even better.
According to the Collecting Cars, who describe it as “a very rare modern classic”, the motor has had its suspension refurbished and the gearbox rebuilt by DTB Motorsport Limited.
The new owner will find a “relatively modest 41,414 miles from new” on the odometer, and they’ll even get to enjoy the rather quaint ‘M400 DPC’ registration plate.
In summary, the auction house says this exotic motor will “make an exhilarating companion for weekend drives and track-day action alike”.
This comes after a huge collection of incredible classic cars was found abandoned for 50 years in a garage.
The Noble M400’s top speed is 187mph which is nothing compared to Maerati’s brand-new supercar’s top speed of 202mph.
