Mohegan Sun’s Restaurant Week returning with new flavors. Here are some dishes you can try.
Mohegan Sun’s annual Restaurant Week is back, and guests can enjoy dining specials for a five-day stretch from Sunday, Jan. 21 through Thursday, Jan. 25, according to the casino and resort.
Restaurants include, but are not limited to, BALLO Italian Restaurant, Michael Jordan’s Steak House, Todd English’s Tuscany and TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge.
Guests can try Restaurant Week at BALLO Italian Restaurant with a three-course meal option for $45 per person. For the first course, guests can choose either a Caesar salad with parmigiano and croutons, an arugula salad with pine nuts, shaved parmigiano and lemon, or meatballs made with pomodoro, pecorino, basil and mozzarella. The second course gives guests the option of chicken francese made with sautéed spinach, roasted garlic, grilled lemon and white wine, campanella alla vodka served with stracciatella, salmon served with roasted Brussels, butternut squash, almonds and Calabrian honey or eggplant parmigiana made with mozzarella, pomodoro and basil. For the third course, there is a vanilla and chocolate chip cannoli.
The Lansdowne Irish Pub & Music House’s specials include an Irish Trio consisting of house made shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, banger sausage and soda bread for $36 and corned beef and cabbage spring rolls made with corned beef, cabbage, carrots, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing for $16. Additionally, guests can request a 20 oz. Guinness for $15.
The featured specials over at MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill include a $19 3-Pointer featuring a half garlic bread, half-pound wings and two spring rolls. Other specials include a 14 oz. BBQ rubbed prime rib served with mashed potatoes, smoked onion jus and horseradish cream for $42 and a $6 23 oz. Bud Light Draft.
At Michael Jordan’s Steak House, guests can order a 42 oz. Tomahawk steak served with steak sauce and fries for $99 or beef satay served with Crying Tiger sauce for $16.
Sol Toro is getting in on the Restaurant Week with Mix & Match tacos, where guests can choose two or three tacos for $4.50 each; taco options include fried cod fish with Aji mayo and slaw, pork carnitas with Sol Toro salsa, cilantro and onion, fried chicken with Habanero tomatillo salsa, cilantro and onion, Mexicali chicken with guacasalsa and pico de gallo and a bean taco made with pinto beans, tomato, lettuce, cheddar cheese and cilantro lime crema. Additionally, Sol Toro will feature a chicken fried rice bowl made with chipotle chicken, soy chili, roasted garlic and a fried egg for $22 and a frozen margarita flight for $10.
Jasper White’s Summer Shack will offer a three-course meal for $55 per person. For the first course, guests can choose either a mixed greens salad with house vinaigrette, a cup of New England clam chowder or a cup of spicy Bermuda fish and crab chowder. For the second course, dive into either a 1 lb. pan-roasted lobster served with butter, bourbon, white wine, chervil, shallots and corn on the cob, a seafood Fra Diavola with linguini, lobster, shrimp and squid in a spicy red sauce or grilled tenderloin steak tips served with sautéed mushrooms, garlic broccoli, mashed potatoes and peppercorn cream sauce. For the third course, guests can have a house made dessert.
Sushi Koya is set to offer a special three course meal for $40 per person. For the first course, guests can choose between a Kani salad or seaweed salad. Options for the second course include Dinosaur Eggs consisting of spicy tuna wrapped in avocado, a sushi appetizer featuring five pieces of raw fish (chef’s choice) served with rice or pork gyoza. The third course features a selection of one the following: Chef’s Special Roll, Dancing Eel (spicy lobster topped with eel and avocado and kabayaki sauce), Black Samurai (spicy tuna and avocado topped with black pepper tuna, scallion, tobiko and kabayaki sauce), Mermaid (Kano, shrimp and avocado topped with seared spicy salmon, tobiko and spicy mayo), Koya Roll (shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with spicy tuna, kabayaki sauce and tobiko), Volcano Roll (spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado and tempura crunch with kabayaki sauce and spicy mayo) or Salmon Lover (spicy salmon and mango with spicy mayo sauce and crunch).
At Todd English’s Tuscany, foodies can try the week with a three-course meal for $50 per person from 5 p.m. to close on Monday, Jan. 22 through Wednesday, Jan. 24. For the first course, guests can pick among an autumn salad consisting of Arcadia mix, double smoked bacon lardons, dried cranberries, Granny Smith apples, pecans, gorgonzola cheese and pomegranate vinaigrette or a Caesar salad featuring Little Gem lettuce, Tuscan croutons and eggless Caesar dressing or lastly, a house made lobster bisque consisting of Maine lobster meat, roasted fennel and chives. For the second course, choose a house made butternut squash ravioli with brown butter, sage and toasted pepitas or a 6 oz. bone-in pork chop served with braised Napa cabbage and Granny Smith apples, silk potatoes and apple butter or a 4 oz. salmon florentine served with roasted root vegetables, parsnip puree and lemon butter. For the third course, guests can enjoy a selection of sorbet gelato with chocolate biscotti or tiramisu with coffee ganache and chocolate-covered espresso beans.
Restaurant Week at Tao Asian Bistro & Lounge will take place from 5 p.m. to close on Monday, Jan. 22 through Wednesday, Jan. 24 with the featured special being a Pu-Pu Platter consisting of one piece of crispy tuna, one piece of satay bass, one piece of chicken satay, one piece of gyoza and one lollipop wing for $30.
Available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. during Restaurant Week, Johnny Rockets will offer two burgers, one side and two shakes for $30.
