Bam Adebayo calls Lakers bubble championship ‘the hardest title to win’

In a recent podcast interview, Heat big Bam Adebayo called the bubble title the hardest NBA championship to win, crediting the Lakers for doing so.

Every so often, it seems like someone of note — whether it be a player or coach or media personality — fires off a take about the bubble title. Because of how unique the circumstances were, it has made it one of the most divisive titles won.

Largely speaking, unless you were a Los Angeles Clipper, those who were in the bubble have spoken about how tough of a title it was to win. The latest person to share that sentiment is perhaps the most qualified to make that claim in Heat big man Bam Adebayo.

Part of the only team to last as long in the bubble as the Lakers, Adebayo spoke on Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller’s podcast The OG’s Show about the bubble.

It’s silly we have to relitigate this semi-regularly, but too many of the opinions about this title are also silly.

Yes, it was not a normal title. It was fitting to the times as nothing about 2020 was normal. Debating if it was harder or easier is probably subjective, even though there isn’t much of an argument for it somehow being easier. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it’s a bad one.

But that players routinely discuss how tough of a title that was to win should carry a significant amount of weight. Particularly those that were in the bubble for a long amount of of time, like Bam, their opinion should matter more than Joe Schmo sitting at home watching on TV.

But, alas, things aren’t that simple and there were a lot of Clippers players who can still give their thoughts, so the dumb talking points are going to continue. The banner hangs all the same and only the ones who lost are discrediting it.
