Max Bowden fans convinced he’s lined up for Celebrity Big Brother after shock EastEnders axing
MAX Bowden could be heading into Celebrity Big Brother after being axed from EastEnders, say fans of the actor.
Viewers of the BBC soap were stunned at the weekend when The Sun on Sunday revealed that the star, who has played Ben Mitchell since 2019, has been dropped from the popular drama.
Now his devoted fanbase are convinced he may do a stint in Britain’s most famous house when CBB returns to ITV1 this Spring.
“Let the battle for a spot on Celebrity Big Brother begin!” one fan tweeted, while speculating that four EastEnders actors who are either leaving or recently left the show could be signing up.
The X user claimed that Shona McGarty, Lorraine Stanley, Danny Walters and Max could be shoo ins for the upcoming reboot.
“Max would be great,” agreed a second.
A third added: “Max Bowden for Celebrity Big Brother then?”
And a fourth seconded the sentiment, chipping in: “That would be a great signing!!”
Many fans have recently threatened to boycott EastEhttps://www.thesun.co.uk/topic/eastenders-spoilers/nders following the controversial decision to sack Max.
They have called it the “worst decision” and vowed to no longer watch.
It is understood that Max had a showdown with bigwigs behind the scenes of the BBC soap recently, and it was decided that his contract would not be renewed when it expires in March.
A big factor in the decision was thought to be his chequered love life and off-screen partying.
A TV insider said: “Max has played Ben for the last four years and bosses decided his time on the show was up.
“There has been a lot of noise around him for a bit too long and that can take away from the drama on the show.
“He went in for a meeting as his contract was up for renewal next year.
“No one knew how it was going to go and following discussions it was decided that he would leave.
“Bosses have yet to plan his exit storyline but Ben is not a character that they would kill off as we’ve already seen in all the previous recasts.”
