Preview: Warriors face Magic in Chase Center to start 2024
Ring in the new year with a win, Dubs!
A fresh start of a New Year is on the way for the Golden State Warriors, as they play basketball today to kick off 2024!
In their way will be the Orlando Magic a team that gave the Dubs a home loss last season that I’m sure the home team will be seeking to avenge.

Steve Kerr: “We haven't found that grit that every team needs where you pull together and just play for the group. That's a problem...Until this team really connects in a way that's solely dedicated to winning every game, we're gonna be stuck in this place." pic.twitter.com/AI2ohsGQOe

Last year when the Magic beat the Warriors in Chase Center, it was the first time the Dubs had lost at home to Orlando in a decade. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson played in that 2012-2013 season loss, with Draymond Green coming off of the bench.
This time around, the Splash Bros will again be joining the floor in tandem while Green is away from the team due to suspension. Meanwhile the Magic have gone through more iterations since than Power Rangers casting, a testament to how rare it is for one player to stay with a team for over a decade, let alone a trio.
But the current version of the Magic has a ton of potential; they currently have a 19-13 record and are currently atop the Southeast Division. And as underwhelming as Charlotte, Washington, and Atlanta have been, that division could be a two-team race between two Florida squads.
They have some youthful athleticism and versatility that is driving them, but don’t take my word for it, just ask Phoenix Suns coach Frank Vogel:
“Those two guys Franz [Wagner] and Paolo [Banchero] they’re elite offensive players, even though they’re young players,” Vogel said in his interview after shoot-around yesterday. “It’s not a situation where they [Orlando] have to wait on those guys. They’re doing it right now. They both came out of the gates scoring the ball at a super high rate in a variety of different ways and their versatility is very impressive.”
The Orlando Magic are 3-0 against the Warriors since this day. https://t.co/0vPQoirBKu
