‘It’s too easy’ say Masked Singer fans as clues ‘give away’ pop legend as Rat
THE Masked Singer fans think they’ve figured out the celebrity parading as Rat after just one performance on the ITV show.
The wacky competion returned on Saturday night and an army of armchair detectives have already been sharing theories online.
The Masked Singer viewers shared ideas on X/Twitter after tuning in to see the human sized rodent singing the Vengaboys classic Boom Boom Boom!!
Some even insisted that the clues were “too easy”.
Perhaps the biggest clue was the detection of a Liverpudlian accent, while there were references to DIY and cleaning, and heaven.
One exclaimed: “Rat – Sonia Evans… to easy.”
Another announced: “It’s Sonia! She felt after losing Eurovision she had peaked after coming second.”
A third pondered: “Rat is giving me Sonia.”
The singer was hugely famous in the UK and Europe thanks to a string of hits throughout the 80s and 90s.
Her full name is Sonia Evans – and she shot to fame in 1989 with No1 hit You’ll Never Stop Me Loving You.
She also came second at Eurovision in 1993 with Better the Devil You Know and was the first female artist to achieve five Top 20 singles from one album.
Sonia also appeared with Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Bananarama and Cliff Richard in the Band Aid II version of charity single Do They Know It’s Christmas?
These days she still performs, taking to the stage at several retro festivals, and makes personalised messages for fans on CelebVM.
Last year viewers were convinced pop legend Sonia was Fawn, but the doe-eyed deer turned out to be a huge girl band star.
Other fans think they’ve sussed out Rat as a Coronation Street star.
Rat kicked off the new series alongside Kricket, Weather, Marypole, Bigfoot, and Dippy Egg.
Over the weekend Dionne Warwick, 85, was revealed as Weather.
