Forget overnight oats, overnight Coco Pops is the latest breakfast trend sweeping the country… and it’s SO easy to make
FIRST there was overnight oats, and then overnight Weetabix became a new trend.
But now there’s another new breakfast option sweeping the country – and it’s so easy to make.
Online coach Kayla took to TikTok to share her recipe for overnight Coco Pops, which contains just 438 calories and an impressive 38g of protein.
“The only way to be successful in a fat loss phase is by eating the foods you love but making low calorie alternatives,” she said.
She began by measuring out 150g of fat free natural greek yoghurt, before mixing in a scoop of protein powder – opting for MyProtein’s chocolate brownie flavour.
After mixing thoroughly together, she added in teaspoon of Nutella, “just for that extra bit of chocolate”, and mixed again.
Once that was done, she measured out 30g of Coco Pops into the bottom of a glass jar, before putting the yoghurt mixture on the top.
She spread out the mixture into an even layer, before finishing off with a sprinkle of cocoa powder and 10g of a Twirl finger crumbled on.
People were quick to comment on the video, with one writing: “I know I need to do this but I feel like I’ll still be hungry after!”
“Honestly it’s very filling,” Kayla promised.
“Do the coco pops go soggy?” another asked.
With Kayla replying: “Just slightly on top but crunchy underneath!”
A third asked if the pot should be put in the fridge overnight, to which Kayla said: “Yes, or if you’re too impatient 30 mins in freezer!”
“This shall be my next mission!” someone else vowed.
Others weren’t sure about the recipe, with many pointing out the amount of sugar it had in it.
“And a whopping 50g of sugar,” one wrote.
“No, 10g to be exact,” Kayla retorted.
She also revealed that it has 10.5g of fat in it, and she got the pot she used for the recipe from B&M.
