Woman shows off huge Asda yellow-sticker shop that cost her just £28 and will make a whopping 46 meals at 60p each
WITH food prices going up and up, it’s hard not to spend a fortune at the tills every week.
One shopper claims to have bagged 46 meals for under £30 though, thanks to her savvy shopping method and people are in shock.
Whilst most of us were preparing Christmas dinner, Pam Ela was already ready planning what was on next week’s menu.
Rather than staying in on Christmas Eve, the thrifty shopper trekked to her local Asda to find some last minute discounts and was staggered by what was on offer.
In addition to the festive treats, she also found tons of meat and fish heavily reduced before the shops shut for the bank holiday.
For those who are curious about what was in her trolley, the impressive haul included: two whole chickens, a beef pie, chicken breasts, two packets of crumpets, two packets of diced beef and salmon fillet.
That’s not all though, as Pam also picked up two different types of breaded chicken fillet, Cumberland rings, breaded fish, mushrooms, beef mince and even some pork pies.
After her supermarket sweep, the thrifty shopper revealed that all the items had yellow sticker reductions meaning she saved a small fortune.
She even claims that she will be able to make over 46 meals with her haul, with each serving costing only 60p – yes, you read that right.
Sharing photos of her recent shop in the Yellow Stickers group on Facebook, she said: “£28 for all this, about 23 meals for two I think.”
Pam then joked: “Now to de-package it all and play freezer Tetris.”
Unsurprisingly, Facebook users have been stunned by her shop and have been eager to get similar discounts – even after Christmas has ended.
The group loved Pam Ela’s haul, liking her shop, reacting with hearts and even a few shocked faces at just how much she had bagged for a bargain.
“Haha freezer Tetris. I know that one. Do it myself. Enjoy and happy Christmas,” commented one impressed user, adding that they’d been similarly savvy with their festive roast.
They said: “I’m having this for tomorrow’s dinner. Eating a sandwich off it too. It was M&S reduced to half price beer soaked beef.
“I like it well done. It was supposed to be a one-two person joint. It’s enough for three people.”
If you are looking to get cheap groceries, you are in luck as many supermarkets are having massive clearance sale to get rid of Christmas stock.
Even if you miss out on these festive discounts, shoppers have two chances to pick up yellow sticker items at Asda – with product reduced in the morning and evening.
This means if you don’t find what you need in the am, you can always nip in on the way home from work and still bag a bargain.
In fact, the Fabulous team have listed the best shopping times for every supermarket so you won’t have to pay full price for groceries again.
You could even save as more as some supermarkets, like Aldi, give discounts for damaged packaging and up to 75 per off for items with a short date.
Now that is a good way to start the New Year!
