We took a 1940’s rundown bungalow & transformed it into our dream home but it’s the Ikea kitchen that blows people away
A COUPLE have showed off the home transformation they underwent after buying a 1940s rundown bungalow.
Luke Wells and his girlfriend, from Bournemouth bought the dated house complete with a lemon yellow bathroom and grubby garage but made it look completely new in just nine months.
Taking to social media, the couple showed off the renovation which Luke was hands on is as a carpenter.
In the clip it showed what the property looked like when the couple first purchased it with a unkempt lawn, magnolia hallway and brown carpets throughout.
The bathroom appliances were all lemon yellow while the kitchen was kitted with 70s style mahogany wood cupboards.
It was clear that the bungalow hadn’t been touched for a long time and was in need of some TLC.
The pair got to work by gutting the interiors of their three-bed bungalow and starting from scratch.
Brown carpets was ripped up and replaced with modern floorboards and a non-offensive beige paint on the walls.
The original stain glass windows throughout the house were kept in place and the old kitchen was turned into an extra bedroom.
The dated lemon bathroom fitted with brown tiles was also stripped out and replaced with marble tiles a stand up shower and new white appliances.
Luke wrote: “The biggest change of them all and our favourite of our home.”
The couple showed off the giant living room decorated in all sorts of brown decor before the big reveal.
Opening the doors, the room had been renovated into a giant black and white modern kitchen and dining area with french doors opening up to their garden.
They managed to save lots of money on the kitchen spending just £4,000 on the whole thing.
They purchased the lighting and some interiors from Ikea and bought the kitchen units secondhand.
The couple also transformed their garden and worn out garage into an incredible BBQ and bar area.
The clips have since gone viral with over a million views on their TikTok account @lukewells1997.
