GOP lawmaker announces marriage: 'Perfect end to 2023'

Rep. Kevin Kiley is entering 2024 as a married man — the California Republican announced that he tied the knot just days before the new year.

“Perfect end to 2023,” Kiley wrote on social media this week.

He married Chelsee Gardner in a church in Auburn, Calif., on Dec. 30, his office announced.

Gardner works at the nonprofit Agape International Missions.

The 38-year-old lawmaker and Gardner met at a Fourth of July community event in Rocklin, Calif. Kiley then proposed last summer at the same park.

The pair, who will live in Roseville, Calif., said in a statement that they’re “grateful for the love and support they receive from their family and friends as they embark on this journey together as husband and wife.”
