Ruth Langsford says she’s NOT returning to This Morning after Holly Willougby quit saying ‘that ship has sailed’
RUTH Langsford has insisted she’s not returning to This Morning after Holly Willougby’s departure.
Presenter Ruth, 63, and her husband Eamonn Holmes, 64, used to front the programme on Fridays until they were replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.
And now that Holly’s left the show, speculation of her return has grown among fans.
But the Singapore-born star has thrown cold water over all the talk in a new interview with Hello! magazine.
She said: “I think that ship has sailed. Listen, never say never. I adore that show and it was a dream to work on it.
“I worked on it before Eamonn, actually people forget that. I say to him: ‘I took you to work, don’t forget!'”
Following the hosting shuffle, the married couple continued as stand-in hosts until Eamonn stood down after 15 years in 2022, joining GB News.
However, Ruth stayed with ITV, continuing to appear on another daytime hit, Loose Women.
Eamonn made some scathing remarks about Holly since Phillip Schofield‘s scandal was revealed, though.
Phil resigned when it emerged he’d had a fling with a much younger runner.
Eamonn subsequently accused Holly of being “distant” with the This Morning crew – and insisted she should “follow Phillip out the door”.
She eventually quit This Morning in October after a murder and kidnap plot against her came to light.
