'Doesn't look good': Chris Christie slams 'unfit' Trump for taking millions from China
Former President Donald Trump was raked over the coals by former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) on CNN Thursday, following reports that Trump-owned businesses received millions of dollars from Chinese entities.
Christie, who is running against Trump for the 2024 nomination, said that he can't prove Trump was compromised by the Chinese government — but that either way, the report shows he put his own finances before the interests of America.
"The report alleges that the Chinese government and state-controlled entities spent over $5.5 million at various Trump properties while he was in office," said anchor Wolf Blitzer. "Do you believe Trump was actually compromised by this Chinese spending?"
"It certainly doesn't look good," said Christie.

"I think this is the problem from the beginning in the way Trump decided to handle business affairs, and having his sons nominally be in charge," Christie continued. "I think all of us know that he never really let go of his business interests while he was president, so these are things that just continue to add to the reasons why he's unfit to be President of the United States again. The fact is that this — putting himself before the people of the country is an ongoing pattern in this and many other instances."
"So whether it compromised him or not, I don't know," added Christie. "I wasn't in the room when he was making decisions. I can tell you it's the repeat of a pattern where he doesn't care about the American people as much as he cares about people whose last name is Trump."
