Man, 32, and woman, 25, arrested over death of gangster Marc Webley who was ‘shot dead’ in Edinburgh
TWO people have been arrested over the alleged killing of gunman Marc Webley.
Webley, 38, was allegedly shot to death while leaving a Hogmanay party at his local pub on West Granton Road in Edinburgh while a second man, 39, was also found wounded.
The scene around the pub was locked down by police in white forensics suits as they probed the alleged gun death.
Major crimes detectives have since confirmed two people have been arrested over Webley’s alleged killing.
A 32-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were both nicked over the alleged Hogmanay execution.
The arrests come just days after investigators found the suspected getaway motor involved in the alleged murder in a nearby estate.
We previously told how Webley appeared to predict his own death in a series of videos posted to social media just weeks before he was allegedly gunned down.
He uploaded tearful footage where he says he will “die happy” and tells his two sons that he loves them.
Police say their enquiries into Webley’s alleged killing are still ongoing.
Detective Superintendent Graham Grant, Major Investigation Team, said: “We’d like to thank the local community for their support and patience while enquiries are ongoing.
“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area and anyone with further concerns should speak to officers, call 101, or in the case of an emergency, 999.”
