I’m a WAG and it’s really not as glam as you might think – I spend my Saturdays sitting in the car waiting for half time
A WAG has revealed that while people expect her lifestyle to be seriously glamorous, it’s not as fancy as you might think.
Emily Victoria Johnson, who described herself as a “non-league WAG”, explained that she spends her Saturdays sitting in the car waiting for half time.
Not only this, but Emily still has to pay to watch her man play football too.
Emily’s beau plays football in the lower tiers of the English league system, and as a result, she spends her time travelling around to watch his games.
So if you thought being a WAG was private jets and trips abroad, Emily has proved that it’s not the reality for her.
Posting on social media, the content creator set the record straight about her life, as she explained that WAG life includes “freezing your t**s off in the depths of winter.”
She then said: “I didn’t choose the WAG life, the WAG life chose me.”
As she sat in her car on a cold Saturday afternoon, Email shared an insight into “the life of a non-league WAG”, as she claimed: “So can we just take a minute to wish a big fat RIP to the lives of the wives and girlfriends who dedicate their Saturdays to supporting their non-league football boyfriends?”
She then claimed: “I’m currently sat in a car – we’ve driven an hour to get here and what did I do? I went and forgot £3, so I can’t even get in the gate.
“So now I’m waiting till half time so that I can get in for free because I don’t have £3.
“I’m spending my Saturday afternoon sat in a car. Honestly. RIP.”
But that’s not all, in another clip, Emily claimed that her life as a non-league WAG has been a big shock to the system.
While she thought being a WAG might involve “shopping trips to Selfridges, holidays to the Maldives and driving around in Range Rovers”, in fact, she said that couldn’t be far from the truth.
Instead, Emily claimed: “It’s freezing your tits off in the depths of winter, sat in an empty stand watching your man run around a field.”
To this, she wrote: “Not quite the WAG life I imagined.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @emilyvictoriajohnson_, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 116,100 views.
Many other WAGS took to the comments, to empathise with Emily.
One person said: “Non-league wag life is not for the faint hearted.”
Another added: “Even worse when you go and just watch him sit on the bench.”
A third commented: “And then you sit in his car waiting for him to come out of the changing rooms after the game.”
Meanwhile, someone else penned: “Like being the band gf. There’s no VIP, you’re carrying the gear around and fetching drinks. I thought I was going to be Sharon Osbourne.”
