My Eastern European mom has the best beauty tips – all her skincare is cheap & homemade from the kitchen
A SKINCARE guru has shared her mom’s signature beauty routine.
Her tips will leave your skin moisturized, acne-free and glowing.
TikToker Ariel Frenkel (@afrenkel1) created a video about her mother’s anti-aging tricks.
“Got it from my mama,” she captioned the video.
“I’m here to tell you all of the best skincare tips that my Eastern European mom gave me,” Ariel said at the beginning.
The influencer’s mom always drinks water.
“She’s always preached about the importance of hydration,” Ariel said. “The second your feet touch the ground, you have to have at least a glass of water.”
When it comes to meal times, Ariel’s mom drinks a glass of water 30 minutes before she eats, and then she has more water two hours after the meal.
“What you eat reflects your skin on the outside,” Ariel said.
Water and nutrition aside, there are kitchen items that her mom uses on her skin, like sour cream.
“Sour cream can bring hydration back to your face,” she said. “It’s really good at minimizing redness and pores and also works on fine lines.”
Ariel’s mom would also make her own face mask out of egg, honey, and lemon.
“This also is really great at minimizing pores and really great at evening out your skin tone,” she said. “Also pulling back your face and causing it to lift.”
The final tip from Ariel’s mom is to put toothpaste on pimples.
The wives’ tale has been disproven online, but Ariel said the method always worked for her.
“I don’t know if online that’s the best thing to do. It can cause redness, but that’s what she taught me,” Ariel shared.
Toothpaste could “burn” your skin, according to Very Well.
“Some people develop a chemical burn, or a nasty rash called contact dermatitis, after applying toothpaste on a pimple,” they wrote.
