- Anthony McWilliams has been TikToking his experience on Royal Carribbean's Ultimate World Cruise.
- After requesting to leave the ship for a short trip, he says he was not immediately allowed back on.
- Following the temporary fiasco, he's now back on board.
A passenger who said he was temporarily unable to reboard the Royal Caribbean's Ultimate World Cruise he was traveling on now appears to be resuming his journey on the ship.
After documenting the fiasco that he says kept him away from the ship for 12 days, Anthony McWilliams shared a TikTok video on January 5 saying that he was now back on board.
"My room & belongings were well taken care of while gone. 12 days later, It feels good to be back on board!" read part of a caption on McWilliams' video, where he shared a video of him back in his room on the cruise ship.
According to previous BI reporting, McWilliams wanted to take a short trip to Brazil, asking ship officials for permission to disembark at one port along the journey and reboard at a later date.
McWilliams previously told BI that Royal Caribbean informed him that Brazil would not allow him to disembark and reboard the cruise at a different port. BI was not able to independently verify this at the time, according to prior reporting.
Instead of disembarking in Brazil, McWilliams left the cruise in Grenada, and intended to reboard in Montevideo, Uruguay, BI previously reported.
On January 4, McWilliams said on TikTok that he was in Uruguay and was going to be reboarding the ship, going on to share updates on TikTok from aboard the Ultimate World Cruise.
He also posted several videos of time on land during his trip to Brazil, sharing his experiences with his 116,000 TikTok followers.
McWilliams previously told BI that Brazil has a special place in his heart as he had visited the country with his late husband Michael, who died of cancer in 2018, and whom he was taking the cruise in memory of.
"Brazil is my favorite place to visit. I love it here. It's so scenic. And then again, my very first time coming to Brazil was in 2007 — my husband Michael brought me here," he told BI's Julie Gerstein.
"I walk the streets of Brazil and remember him," he added.
On TikTok, the Ultimate World Cruise has been a very hot topic. For the past month, viewers have been gripped by creators sharing their experiences on the round-the-world cruise, hoping for reality TV-style drama, as BI previously reported.
Representatives for Royal Caribbean did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.
