Marjorie Taylor Green hits Fani Willis with criminal referral over alleged affair: report
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) believes the Georgia prosecutor spearheading the sweeping racketeering case against Trump and 18 others for allegedly conspiring to meddle with the 2020 election results — committed a crime and she's calling on the governor to intervene, according to NBC News.
On Wednesday the Georgia lawmaker formally sent a criminal referral to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr complaining that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' hiring of special prosecutor Nathan Wade constituted an "illegal conflict of interest" after it was revealed the pair were allegedly engaged to be in a relationship.
Citing an attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman who first aired their romance in a filing to dismiss charges, Greene is hoping to put the screws to Willis.

"...Fani Willis faces serious allegations that she illegally hired her secret boyfriend – Nathan Wade, who has never tried a felony case – as her special prosecutor to bring an unprecedented, complex, and partisan felony RICO prosecution against President Trump – the leading presidential contender for 2024 – along with 18 co- defendants," according to the letter. "Despite this obviously illegal conflict of interest, Fani Willis has allegedly paid Nathan Wade... nearly $700,000 in official funds."
"This includes a multitude of vague block billings for 8 hours — and as a lawyer publicized, even one billing for 24 hours on a single day, with the vague description “[p]repared cases for pre trial.”
She goes on to suggest that Willis may have committed foul play for receiving "illegal kickbacks, including lavish domestic and International trips" paid for with "misappropriated government funds."
It's been alleged both Willis and Wade jetted off together to enjoy stints in Napa Valley and the Caribbean.
So far, Willis hasn't commented on the allegations or the relationship with Wade, NBC News reports.
She noted in the document that should Willis be proven to be in the wrong it would constitute an “unlawful partisan pattern … to illegally politicize and weaponize her public office” to defeat Trump in advance of the 2024 presidential election.
