'Dude, you're a member of Congress': Jim Jordan scolded for Hunter Biden rant
A CNN anchor slapped back at Rep. Jim Jordan Wednesday after he railed about Hunter Biden’s “blatant” contempt of a congressional subpoena Wednesday.
“Dude,” Brianna Keilar said Wednesday afternoon. “You're a member of Congress, and you defied a congressional subpoena to talk about clearly something that you should have talked about.”
Keilar spoke out against Jordan after he complained of Biden’s refusal to submit to a closed-door hearing on unproven accusations that he and his father are guilty of corruptly accepting foreign funds.
Hunter has said he’ll testify publicly, and has twice appeared at the Capitol to make this point plain, but that only sparked outrage from Jordan.
“The fact that he was supposed to be here on Dec. 13th in a deposition and goes to the Capitol grounds and says, ’I’m willing to answer any question publicly’ and then leaves,” Jordan told CNN reporter Melanie Zenona.
“It just shows just how blatant and brazen the contempt is.”

But as Keilar noted, Jordan in May 2022 refused to submit to a subpoena from the House Jan. 6 investigative committee, to which he responded with an angry letter dubbing the summons “a dangerous escalation” of “political vendettas.”
Keilar argued the Jan. 6 hearings went beyond political marksmanship and vented frustration at Jordan's rhetoric.
“There is some clear hypocrisy on this idea of a congressional subpoena,” Keilar said. “It should mean something.”
