Dry wet washing in half the time with clever clothes hanging hack that doesn’t use extra energy
WITH the temperatures dropping, drying laundry indoors is becoming quite a costly exercise.
You might be lucky enough to own a tumble dryer, but when the energy bills triple it begins to feel less like a blessing in disguise and more like another hidden cost you could do without.
This savvy mum has found a way to cut your drying time in half by using this simple cost effective technique.
In a post shared on TikTok Gemma Bird known as @moneymumofficial shared her secret knack for drying laundry indoors and how she does it in half the time.
The clip rocked up over 200 likes and it’s no wonder because the hack makes so much sense and it’s easier and cheaper than some alternatives.
The money saving mum suggests giving your radiator racks a second chance.
The clip features her hanging her clothes over the rails that extend out from the radiator and you might ask what’s new because we’ve all done it.
But that’s when she pulls out a bed sheet to deliver on her hidden drying hack.
The sheet is placed over each corner of the radiator to lock in all the heat.
In her caption Gemma explains how she cut the usual four hour drying time down to just two: “We’ve done it on the big airer too but this works amazing.
“So had the heating on but normally around four hours-ish to dry then dried them in two.
“Works because the heat stays in the sheet.”
One commenter wrote: “Will definitely try this, thank you.”
