Vedanta has signed a commercial gas sales agreement for gas off-take from this field. During the appraisal phase, Jaya's gas was evacuated through truck-mounted compressed natural gas (CNG) kits and taken to nearby CNG gas stations, the company said. “This is the first-of-its-kind facility where sales through a CNG cascade system is being done by an exploration & production operator from an exploration well,” it added. This enabled the company to minimize gas flaring during the field appraisal.
