I’m size 22 and people always quiz me on what is an ‘Apron belly’ and what is a ‘B belly’ – I just show them
Lindsey stripped down to her underwear to educate her social media followers…and apron bellies aren’t just exclusive to plus-size women
A PLUS size woman has been flooded with praise online after informing social media followers what an ‘apron’ belly and ‘B belly” really is.
Lindsey is a size UK 22 and explained how she’s had an apron belly, medically known as a pannus stomach, for most of her life.
Apron bellies are not exclusive to plus-size women and many people of all body shapes and sizes can develop one, such as men who have lost weight or women who have recently given birth.
In a clip posted to TikTok, the plus size beauty can be seen stripping down to her underwear to respond to someone who asked: “Watched every video in this series and I still don’t know what an apron belly is.”
Responding in a bid to educate others, Lindsey begins: “I’m plus size. I have an apron belly, and it’s time to review what is an apron belly?
“And so I have an apron belly…I also have a B belly.
“There are technical terms for the apron belly but just in common, everyday conversation, I call it an apron belly.”
She then goes on to reveal to her social media followers exactly what hers looks like.
Pointing to the top of her stomach, she begins: “Up here is what I call my upper belly.”
She then moves her hands lower towards her underwear and notes: “And down here is what I call my apron belly.”
Lindsey continues: “So I have my upper belly, my lower belly, and it kind of covers like an apron.
“This is also a B belly because it makes two B’s.
“My B was way more prominent when I was pregnant…the upper part stuck out way more.
“And then I have the lower belly.”
Lindsey adds that she has thinner arms and thinner legs, no butt at all.
“And this is my body,” she concludes.
“It’s a body type…it is normal and a lot of people have it.
“I hope that this helps you understand what an apron belly is.”
The post has since gone viral, racking up a whopping 42k views and hundreds of comments, with many quick to praise Lindsey for normalising their body shapes online.
“In my 22 years on this earth, I’ve never seen someone with my body type. this means so much to me,” wrote one.
A second penned: “Totally normal. I have a B belly and have probably since I was in my 20s? I always wondered what caused it.”
A third commented: “Thank you for sharing. Honestly there is not enough representation for our body type and not enough normalcy.”
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: “This is exactly how I am, for years I thought it was only me!! It’s so nice to see how normal this is.”
Another praised: “I’m loving seeing my body type being shown, especially with trendy clothing. You are a treasure!”
A further added: “I have a b belly too! Thanks for being brave and vulnerable.”
And one more chimed in: “I have this body shape. So did my grandma, my mum. So does my daughter!”
