Man arrested after woman in critical condition from skull fracture (updated)
Police have arrested the partner of a 45-year-old woman who was discovered with a serious head injury on Wednesday afternoon in an apartment.
According to the police, the 45-year-old woman, who is now in a comatose state, has undergone surgery after she was transported to a private hospital in Limassol on Wednesday afternoon by an ambulance from the apartment where she resides.
Medical examinations revealed that she had a hematoma and fracture on the right side of her head. She underwent surgical intervention and is currently hospitalised at the intensive care unit of the hospital.
In his statement to the police following his arrest, the Serbian partner of the 45-year-old woman mentioned that on Monday night, the two were consuming alcohol and having a good time at the apartment. Later, the woman presented signs of being unwell.
Following his arrest, members of the Limassol immigration police also determined that he was residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
Meanwhile, police are still attempting to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the woman’s injury.
