We live in a caravan – we’re forced out of holiday park for 6 weeks every year but love it…homes are concrete prisons
A MUM-of-three has told how she lives in a caravan full-time and loves it – despite being forced out for six weeks every year.
Kate has been living at a holiday park for almost a year after deciding normal homes are like “concrete prisons”.
Posting on social media, Kate revealed that due to holiday park regulations she has to vacate the caravan for six weeks a year.
And although some might be put off from packing down their residential homes and driving down to the seaside, Kate has no problem with it since traditional homes are “concrete prisons”.
In the video, she said: “I am sick to death of people telling me that it’s not possible (to live in a caravan) and that they can’t do it.
“The first thing to know is that this (living in a caravan) is not residential.
“Nothing at all is registered to this site because it is a holiday site, but that does not mean that you can’t live here unconventionally.
“I know this because I have been living this way of life for almost a year.”
Kate goes on to explain to that in order to live the life she lives, you need to have a separate registered address – it can be yours or a friend or family members.
But, here is where the catch comes in, Kate said that for six weeks a year you’ll have to vacate your caravan – effectively rendering you homeless for almost two months out of 12.
She said: “These are holiday sites, they’re generally not open for the whole year so for example, ours is only open for 10.5 months a year.”
However, in Kate’s case, all she needs to be is off the site, so she said you could “Go travelling, you can do whatever the hell you want to do, you can stay in a hotel, stay in an Airbnb, go abroad, it does not matter what you want to do.”
Doubling down on her unconventional way of life, she was spotted replying to a viewer on one of her videos.
The viewer, said: “Yes yes yes I do hate living in a house.”
Replying to the viewer, Kate, said: “A lot of people feel the same! A concrete prison! Is unconventional life for you?”
Kate has been living in a static caravan for the the last year, and said she can save loads of money by living this unconventional life.
But Kate is not the only person choosing to vacate residential homes, as one woman sold her home at 22-years-old to live off-grid.
And another Brit opted out of the property ladder and bought a £2,000 static caravan then turned it into a tiny home.
