Shivam Dube’s fifty helped India beat Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the first T20I of the three-match series at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, on January 11. India managed to build pressure on Afghanistan with their disciplined bowling as they funneled down the runs. AFG made a great comeback in the second half of their innings and put 158 runs on the board. Mohammad Nabi (42 off 27 balls) and Azmatullah Omarzai’s (29 off 22 balls) 68-run stand played a major role in it.
India lost Rohit Sharma in the first over itself but then Indian batters progressed the scoreboard well. Later, Shuvam Dube’s fifty helped India win the match with the 15 balls remaining.
