SAG TV nominations forum reactions: Cheers for ‘The Gilded Age,’ jeers for Meryl Streep snub
As soon as the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were unveiled, our forum posters wasted no time voicing their brutally honest opinions regarding which performances were recognized and ignored. On the television side, our regular users (many of whom are industry insiders shielded by clever screen names) celebrated the inclusion of Jennifer Aniston (“The Morning Show”), Matt Bomer (“Fellow Travelers”), and the cast of “The Gilded Age” while heavily lamenting the snubs of Bomer’s cast mate, Jonathan Bailey, Jeremy Strong (“Succession”), and Meryl Streep (“Only Murders in the Building”).
Below is just a sampling of our readers’ unabashed reactions to the SAG Award nominees in nine TV categories. Take a look, then join in if you’re brave enough. The film and TV winners will be revealed live on Netflix on February 24. Gold Derby’s predictions center is open, so make your first picks right now.

Jake: It’s shocking that three “Succession” actors are nominated and Jeremy Strong isn’t among them.
ejaru1810: Cox instead of Strong is just embarrassing.
ethankoo: I can ALMOST accept Strong being snubbed if Cox wasn’t nominated. It makes no sense at all.
BEST DRAMA ACTRESS
forwardswill: JENNIFER ANISTON IS BACK WOO.

CmTheFreeman: The guild hates Meryl Streep and it shows.
BEST MOVIE/MINI ACTOR
SnookTheWay: MATT BOMER YESS. But what does Jonathan Bailey have to do to get nominated?
Atypical: Continuing to nominate Matt Bomer without Jonathan Bailey is glaringly bad.
David Buchanan: Great, great nomination for Tony Shalhoub! I knew he could do it.
BEST MOVIE/MINI ACTRESS
Jays: The Juno Temple snub stinks.
ejaru1810: Bel Powley, yeah!!!!
