Montana fire chief who defied COVID mandates is charged for assaulting cops on Jan 6

A fire chief who once lost a job over his refusal to abide by COVID-19 mandates has been charged for his participation in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, KING 5 reported.

Frank Dahlquist allegedly sprayed a chemical irritant into the face of a police officer during the riot and then sprayed another. Later that year, he was named chief of West Valley Fire Rescue in Montana.

He was charged with assault, obstruction of law enforcement and other counts.

Dahlquist also allegedly threw a piece of lumber at police on that day, although no one was hit. FBI agents were able to identify him by talking to other firefighters who had worked with him.

He was terminated from Eastside Fire and Rescue in April 2022 after he refused a required a COVID-19 vaccination, court documents state.
