Heartwrenching moment toddler tries to stop hooded thugs after they pounced on teen girl and man in terrifying ‘mugging’
THIS is the heart-wrenching moment a toddler tries to stop a hooded gang attacking a girl and man.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Wednesday night’s attack which saw three men strike seemingly out of nowhere.
Video shows a man, woman and toddler walk to a car in Sidcup, South East London.
As they approach the vehicle two men rise from a nearby bench and walk over.
Within seconds one of the attackers punches the man in the head and all hell breaks lose as the second thug piles in.
As the attack unfolds the child appears frozen in their tracks as they watch on helplessly.
The victim falls to the floor as he frantically tries to protect himself before the teenage girl rushes to his aid before being punched in the face.
In separate footage, the woman curses and screams at the assailants.
The group end up mauling against a wall as a third goon joins to rain down punches on the man while trying to grab his bag.
Astonishingly the child, who followed the attack across the pavement, chases after the group as he screams in horror.
Luckily an innocent bystander charges over and pulls the child away as the brutal attack continues.
The Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the 5pm horror which saw all three attackers escape.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called at about 17:05hrs on Wednesday, 10 January to reports of a fight on Halfway Street in Sidcup.
“Officers attended and were informed that a teenage girl had been punched in the face.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.”
