Former head of the Tibetan government-in-exile, Lobsang Sangay, highlighted that despite the reduced international discourse on Tibet, the repression by China continues, and the tactics used there are being applied to other regions. He emphasized that while Tibet may not be in the current spotlight, the situation remains serious, drawing parallels between the experiences of Tibetans, Uyghurs, and other ethnic minorities in China. Sangay emphasized the need for a broader understanding of the authoritarian system at play, which extends beyond Tibet to regions like Xinjiang and Hong Kong.
