catch Up with Callum: Raith Rovers v Queen’s Park Match Preview

0

Queen’s Park play their first game with Callum Davidson as their Head Coach when they travel to Raith Rovers on Saturday.

Whilst it is Callum’s first game there is a chance for the team to ‘complete the set’ as the Kirkcaldy side, following last Friday’s win over Dunfermline Athletic, are the only team the Spiders have yet to take points from this season.

Raith securing six points from six against Queen’s so far this season is a sore statistic for anyone connected to Queen’s Park as the Fifers were losing both meetings until late, very late on.

Let’s hope Queen’s Park get ahead and stay ahead this time out!

A press conference was held on Friday afternoon to introduce Callum and afterwards he spoke to QPTV and he covered:

– Settling into the job.
– Harsh Raith Rovers games.
– Confidence is key.
– Sean Welsh added.
– Learning from older players.

The cinch Championship so far
Queen’s Park’s two-goal success over Dunfermline Athletic last Friday night was their first success in 139 days and was the first step in moving away from tenth spot in the Championship. The move upwards was completed the next day when Partick Thistle defeated Arbroath and a second three-point haul in succession could move Queen’s Park up another position.
The six points Raith have snatched in injury time against Queen’s Park has helped them open up a three-point advantage from Dundee United at the top of the table. They have won five times at Stark’s Park, drawn on four occasions and proudly hold the only unbeaten home record in the Championship.
Three goals in his last two games has moved Ruari Paton onto ten goals in the Championship which is the same total as Lewis Vaughan who is the top marksman for Raith.

Squad News
Barry Hepburn has ended his loan spell and returned to Bayern Munich with Charlie Fox, Grant Savoury and Liam McLeish remaining out due to injury.
